The owner/chef Shogo Takenaka has been showcasing his culinary talent for the last 15 years in Vancouver’s award-winning restaurant Kingyo Izakaya and its sister restaurant Raisu Mama’s Kitchen. Sous-chef Daiki Ishikawa trained in Niigata prefecture, known for its finest quality in rice, sake and seafood. Though Vancouver already offers a diverse food culture, TAKENAKA is the first of its kind to introduce Bento Box on the go! What originated as a humble lunch box made by mom for the family to take to school or work, TAKENAKA carries on that loving spirit and prepares artfully delicious Bento Boxes for you. The Bento Box originated as a rustic lunch set made by mom for the family to take to work or school. We at TAKENAKA have taken the next step to introduce to you a more artistic approach to the Bento Box. By offering a combination of selective fresh Japanese ingredients, we hope to enlighten and share this traditional dish at the highest level.
