Farmstead Looks Ahead to Harvest Season, Sweet Corn Festival, Live Music, Wellness Events and More

Greendale Acres, home of the Chilliwack Corn Maze, is opening on August 1st and setting the stage for a summer and fall full of family-friendly fun. The beloved Chilliwack Corn Maze is kicking off its season with the unveiling of a Luke Bryan-themed corn maze and an exciting new event, the Chilliwack Corn Festival, on August 3rd and 4th. Other summer events on the farm include a Country Summer Jam, Sundown Music Series, Golden Hour Flower Workshops, Wellness events, and more.

This year the Chilliwack Corn Maze is kicking the dust up and turning their cornfield into a party with country singing sensation Luke Bryan in partnership with 93.7 JR Country. The layout of the 10-acre field bearing the name and likeness of the five-time CMA Entertainer of the Year and American Idol judge strumming a guitar along with a pair of cowboy boots. 

 

Greendale Acres’ full breadth of immersive experiences, which includes a seasonal Sunflower Maze, Pumpkin Patch, U-Pick Flower Gardens and Picnic Areas — will be available during all events, as well as kid-centric activities that include a Jumping Pillow, Adventure Course, Bubble Barn, Pedal Cart Track, Hay Bale Maze, Animal Displays, Farm Carousel and more.

The full summer and fall event calendar at Greendale Acres includes: 

CHILLIWACK CORN FESTIVAL

Saturday, August 3 and Sunday, August 4

10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Regular Admission: $16 online/$19 at the door per person, free for members

The August 3 long weekend marks the triumphant return of one of Vancouver’s most popular seasonal attractions — Greendale Acres’ home of the Chilliwack Corn Maze — with two days full of good old-fashioned fun down on the farm. Although the corn field is still growing and not at its maximum height until later in the season, you can still get lost in the 10-acre Luke Bryan Corn Maze. Guests will enjoy a taste of seasonal corn on the cob, live music, kid-friendly activities such as face painting and balloon artists, and fully licensed events from 12 until closing on both days that include corn shucking and cornhole tournaments and corn-eating competitions to crown the Chilliwack Corn Eating Champion. 

The full timeline for both days of the Sweet Corn Festival is: a Corn Shucking Competition at 11 a.m. followed by a Corn Eating Competition at 2 p.m.; Face Painting on Saturday and Balloon Artists on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m.; Live Music from 4 to 9 p.m on Saturday, 4 to 6 p.m on Sunday; and a Cornhole Tournament on Saturday night from 5 to 7 p.m.

Greendale Acres lights up Saturday nights in August with fully licensed and family friendly music events that feature local musicians and bands like Ryan McCallister, Tanner Olsen and more as well as activities for kids of all ages and delicious food and drink offerings down on the farm.

 

YOGA IN THE ORCHARD WITH LULULEMON

Whether you’re a beginner or more experienced yoga lover, limber up and bring your mat down to the farm for a Lululemon-guided restorative yoga event designed to help guests relax, stretch, and connect with nature amid the natural beauty of the Greendale orchard. 


GOLDEN HOUR FLOWER WORKSHOP

August 14th, 21st, 28th and September 4th, 11th, 18th

6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Tickets: $25

 

Guests can gather and experience the joy of flower arranging during golden hour as participants begin the eventing with a relaxing walk around the farm, learn about the diverse array of flowers on the property and enjoy light snacks and refreshments before gathering a bucket of blooms and learning how to create a stunning arrangement to take home to enjoy.

 

This event is ideal for flower enthusiasts, nature lovers and anyone looking to spend a blissful evening in the farm’s picturesque and placid environs. Greendale will provide buckets, scissors and a variety of seasonal blooms, and guests can bring their own vases or be able to purchase one on site.

 

 

SUMMER COUNTRY JAM

Saturday, August 17

6 to 10 p.m.

Tickets: $20

 

An unforgettable night of music, fun and country tunes awaits during the Summer Country Jam, when Greendale’s cornfield is transformed into an all-ages, fully licensed festival where families can lay down a blanket, listen to live music from acts like The Petersen Duo and Tanner Olsen Band and enjoy delicious food and drinks during ‘golden hour’ as the sun sets over the farm.

Sunday, August 18th

Join us for a delightful day at the Greendale Acres Summer Market, where you can explore a variety of local vendors, enjoy delicious food, and experience the vibrant atmosphere of our beautiful farm.

THE SHIFT X GREENDALE ACRES SUMMER WELLNESS AT THE FARM EVENT

Thursday, August 29th

Tickets: $50

 

An invigorating combination of cardio and strength training designed to SHIFT guests out of their heads and connect with their bodies, THE SHIFT is led by Michelle Bruys and presented in collaboration with Land Studio & Café, Wilde Wellness and The Habit Project.

 

The SHIFT offers a heart-pumping workout under the pavilion in Greendale’s U-pick flower gardens and apple orchard, offering the perfect setting to move the body, free the mind and enjoy good company and delicious food and beverages provided by the Habit Project and Land Café, with swag bags and giveaways from local businesses included with admission. Guests should bring a mat, running shoes, water bottle and towel and arrive 15 minutes early to set up prior to the event and are encouraged to stay afterwards and enjoy the farm.
