Fairmont Hotel Vancouver x Yellow Dog Brewing Partner for New House Lager
FAIRMONT HOTEL VANCOUVER AND YELLOW DOG BREWING PARTNER FOR NEW HOUSE LAGER, SPONSOR PUPPY THROUGH BC & ALBERTA GUIDE DOGS
Fairmont Hotel Vancouver to launch 'Name our Pint-Size Pup' Contest in Celebration
The iconic Fairmont Hotel Vancouver and local craft brewery, Yellow Dog Brewery have partnered to create a tribute beer in honour of the hotel's beloved Canine Ambassadors, Ella, and Elly. Partial proceeds of every beer sold will contribute to Fairmont Hotel Vancouver's commitment to sponsor a puppy through the BC & Alberta Guide Dogs.
The beer, aptly named 'The Lobby Dog Lager', a light, crisp and refreshing brew will serve as the house beer at Notch8 Restaurant & Bar, and the hotel’s event venues, available for $11.00 CAD per pint. Partial proceeds from each beer sold will contribute to Ella and Elly’s sponsorship of a pint-size pup through the BC & Alberta Guide Dog’s Puppy Raising program, which provides the necessary foundation to raise a dog that will change a person’s life forever.
To celebrate, Fairmont Hotel Vancouver will launch a contest to name the hotel's sponsored pup, open from Friday, August 25 through Friday, September 1 by entering through the hotel's website. The winner will be announced on Friday, September 8 and will receive a Grand Prize package of a one-night stay at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver with dinner for two at Notch8, including a round of The Lobby Dog Lager. More information about the contest including entry rules and regulations can be found here.
"We are thrilled to launch a new house beer with a local partner who shares our passion for quality and community," said Chris Robinson, Director of Food & Beverage at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. We believe our guests will enjoy this new beer offering that supports a great cause with every sip."
In 2017, Fairmont Hotel Vancouver welcomed Ella, a then three-year-old Labrador/Golden Retriever mix, and Eleanor (Elly for short), a then three-year-old Black Labrador. Ella and Elly were trainees with BC & Alberta Guide Dogs, however, they proved too social for a career as a guide dog, alas, making them perfect hotel dogs.
“We were very excited to be able to collaborate with the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver team to create this special brew," says Yellow Dog Brewery's Marketing Manager, Sydney Nikulka. "We were thrilled to work on this special project that not only allowed us to develop a tasty beer to honour some canine icons, but also connects to our core values of supporting our dogs, community, and animal welfare.”
Guests with their own four-legged companions can enjoy Fairmont Hotel Vancouver’s Lab of Luxury Pet Package complete with luxurious overnight accommodation, a welcome four-pack of The Lobby Dog Lager (for the paw-rents), pet amenities including a dog bed, bowls, and treats, along with complimentary self-parking. Reservations for the package can be made online.
