Prophecy: A New Chapter in Vancouver’s Cocktail Scene Unfolds Beneath the Historic Rosewood Hotel GeorgiaHigh-end cocktail lounge offering “Unpretentious Hospitality” in a captivating space set to open this spring
Prepare to be transported to an era of elegance and excitement as Prophecy – opening later this spring – emerges as Vancouver's newest cocktail destination. Nestled beneath the Rosewood Hotel Georgia, Prophecy will redefine the city's already dynamic cocktail culture with its unique fusion of vintage charm and cutting-edge mixology in a space brimming with captivating history.
The basement of the Hotel Georgia has long been a canvas for the vibrant and the bold. In its heyday, it was a sanctuary for the social elite, a hidden gem where jazz notes floated through the air, and the clink of cocktail glasses punctuated lively conversations.
Now, as Prophecy prepares to open its doors, the storied space is poised to begin its next chapter in the hands of its skilled owner-operators from At Home Hospitality. Led by a dynamic trio of operating partners – Justin Mensah-Coker, Mike Rose, and Teddy Wilkie – Prophecy marks another milestone for the industry veterans behind thriving Vancouver ventures like Banter Room and The Living Room at Hotel Belmont. Their collective expertise forms the cornerstone of At Home Hospitality's commitment to delivering exceptional experiences and “unpretentious hospitality” in the city.
Prophecy will showcase an extensive cocktail menu curated by Beverage Director Jeff Savage, known for his wealth of experience and creativity, demonstrated most recently at Botanist Bar at the Fairmont Pacific Rim. With accolades including Canada's Bartender of the Year in 2020 from Canada’s Top 100 and World Class Canada Bartender of the Year in 2019 from Diageo, Savage's innovative approach and wondrous creations have garnered widespread acclaim. Notably, his talents propelled Botanist to rank fourth in Canada's Top 100 Bars in 2023 and earned him Vancouver’s MICHELIN Guide Exceptional Cocktails Award in 2022. Working closely with Jeff to bring his vision to life will be Bar Manager Nicole Cote, who brings a wealth of experience from Vancouver hospitality institutions such as AnnaLena and Published on Main.
To further enrich the overall Prophecy experience, a selection of carefully crafted dishes will be available to complement Savage’s distinctive cocktail program. Rounding out the Prophecy team is Matteo Caniglia as General Manager, who joins the project following leadership roles at The Parlour, Glowbal Group, and Viaggio Hospitality Group (Ancora, Cibo Trattoria).
Upon descending the sweeping staircase into Prophecy, guests will be transported through a portal back in time. Designed by the acclaimed Ste Marie Studio, the venue seamlessly blends classic aesthetics with modern sensibilities, creating an atmosphere that will captivate the imagination and stimulate the senses.
“We’re very excited to be bringing this concept to life with such a talented team,” says Teddy Wilkie, Operating Partner of Prophecy. Wilkie adds, “We look forward to sharing our food, drink and hospitality with our guests, as we write the next chapter for this historic space.”
