Looking for deals is nothing new, but a couple of years of pandemic inflation has put a major squeeze on every dollar and turned everyone into a deal scout. When it comes to social times, Freehouse Collective’s monthly Barfight cocktail contest at Cinema Public House is the best deal around for a great night out with friends.
On the 3rd Wednesday of every month, Barfight pits two Vancouver bartenders in a head-to-battle for mixing superiority and everyone in attendance gets to be part of the fun with their $8 ticket good for two original cocktails and a vote for the contest winner. During the event, the bartenders will also compete in a series of skill contests like Speed Shaking and Free Pour Finesse which will be scored toward determining the winner.
July’s Barfight starts at 8 pm on July 19th and will be a fundraiser for Eastside Boxing’s Youth Program which helps at-risk youth to find structure in sport, gives them a space to study, and supports their food needs. The contest will pit Jonny Latham and James Farrell of the Lamplighter against each other on their path to the Eastside Rumble (formerly Aprons for Gloves). This month’s cocktails will feature Maker’s Mark Bourbon with all ticket and door proceeds from the night to the Eastside Boxing Youth Program.
Every month will feature two new bartenders, two new original cocktails, drink specials, and the best night-out deal in Vancouver! Visit Eventbrite for July tickets and full event details.
